PLA or PETG: Which Material Should You Choose?

You can choose from two materials, and in practice, the answer depends on one question: where will the part be installed?

PLA is our standard. It prints with sharp clarity, captures fine details well, and is the most affordable option. Ideal for anything that stays indoors and doesn't get hot—enclosures, holders, brackets around the house, prototypes, and decorations. PLA softens at around 60 °C, so don't leave it in the car or in direct sunlight.

PETG can withstand more. It is more resistant to heat, UV rays, and moisture, and it is less likely to break when force is applied to it. Choose PETG for parts that are exposed to the outdoors, located in a hot utility closet, or that need to support a significant load.

To put it simply: indoor and neat → PLA. Outdoors, in warm conditions, or under heavy loads → PETG.
